Here are 3 awesome ways that Gold Coast Innovation Hub members can leverage our partnership with TAFE to get ahead in their business journey.
Create an Industry Project
Got a project that you need to complete? Business analysis? Marketing Strategies? Product design or development? Why not submit a Project brief for Work Integrated Learning? Project ideas are discussed with the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) officer to identify what areas of study they link to and if they relate to student assessment or learning outcomes.
If the project is viable, a time will be arranged for the GC Hub member to discuss their project information with the TAFE teacher and WIL officer. This will provide both parties with the opportunity to talk through timelines and outcomes.
The GC Hub member can then talk to the student group about the project and their roles.
Projects provide a great opportunity for our members to access business solutions and links to potential future employees, whilst providing TAFE students with industry experience, networks and an opportunity to apply their skills to a live project.
Provide a student with work experience or an internship
GC Hub members can submit a role description for students to apply for unpaid work experience or internships. These placements usually run for 6 to 12 weeks, for 1 or 2 days per week depending on the needs of the member and the availability of the student. If the placement directly relates to the student’s area of study TAFE Queensland will provide work experience insurance for the student.
Leverage TAFE employment services
TAFE is the ideal environment to find people with the practical and technical skills and enthusiasm to fill your next vacancy. TAFE has employment officers available to talk through members employment needs and connect with TAFE students.
