12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

September 24

Join the GC Hub team for a scrumptious lunch and a bevy as we learn from one of our very own Hub Mentors.

Steve Dalton founder of Refactor, Steve is a local Gold Coast Technologist and founder of Refactor – a Software & Hardware Consultancy specializing in Cloud Software, IoT & AI. Refactor has a pretty large field of clients from local startups, right up to ASX listed corporations. Refactor’s corporate work has led to a specialization in InsurTech and Smart Building/Cities and some more recent forays into AgTech.

We hear the phrase Minimum Viable Product (or MVP) everywhere these days – it seems like for some startups it’s the only thing they ever talk about or work on, but what exactly is an MVP?

MVPs are not just prototypes, they are a vitally important tool for Customer Discovery and Validation. In this workshop, Steve will introduce the origins of the MVP in Lean Thinking and the Lean Startup approach and how you can effectively use MVPs to plot your startup course and learn quickly.

He will also introduce some very simple MVP techniques that will allow you to move extremely fast without having to write code – some of these techniques are remarkably simple but you will need to bring your creative instincts along with you and be willing to think a little differently. Forget about MVP…. behold the MMVP!
