Owning and managing a business in the world we are living in today, means that we have so many online platforms, softwares, applications, social medias, customer files and accounting files which are all managed digitally and online.
Having to manage such things digitally not only makes things simpler, quicker and easier , but it also makes us subjective to online threats such as hackers, scammers, viruses and more.
Our Topic in Focus for February was Cyber Security and in order to spread awareness to our Gold Coast small business community on the importance of keeping your business data safe online, we focused our monthly Lunch & Learn around this topic.
On Tuesday 23rd at Freedom Potential, Varsity Lakes, we were joined by a great panel put together by Steve Dalton, founder of ReFactor and Secluded.io.
Steve Dalton was joined by four panelists – Cathy U’ren from Pet Wellness Centre, Elan Sithirasenan represting TAFE Queensland, Bernard Mangelsdorf from the BITS Technology Group, and Paul McCarty from SecureStack.
The panel talked about any past experiences of being cyber hacked and preventative measures and applications that businesses can use to prevent their business from being targets of online hackers.
Our Lunch & Learn session was recorded for those who were unable to join in person, thanks to Martin and his team at Freedom Potential. Please find the video below.
