In the wake of Tropical Cyclone Alfred, our hearts are with everyone across the Gold Coast and surrounding regions who have been impacted by the severe weather and flooding. The past few days have brought challenges for many, with many still without power and facing possible flooding risks as this is written. We want to acknowledge the resilience and strength of our local community during this difficult time.
Due to the current conditions and Southern Cross University’s shift to online learning this week, the Gold Coast Innovation Hub will be temporarily closed for the week commencing 10 March 2025. At this stage, we expect to be reopening our doors next week and, in the spirit of community recovery, we’re offering free casual coworking access to local startups and small businesses for the week commencing 17 March 2025 – whether they are a current member of the GC Hub or not. If your business has been disrupted or displaced, we hope this space can offer a small but meaningful way to help you get back on your feet by providing electricity, fast data, a dry space from which to operate – and support from others who use the facility.
We also want to let you know that our Pitch & Pints event, originally scheduled for this Wednesday, has been cancelled due to the extreme weather conditions. We were looking forward to the energy and creativity this event always brings, but safety comes first. The good news is, Pitch & Pints will be back next month, and we’re already planning an extra special evening. We invite all those who were planning to attend to register for the upcoming session. We can’t wait to see you there.
