Don’t forget, the deadline for the Export Market Development Grant (EMDG) is fast approaching. 2018 tax year applications are due by the 28th February 2019. Once this deadline passes, eligible expenses for 2018 can’t be claimed. Unless you are claiming 2 years in your first year, which is possible.
Grants are a vital funding mechanism for innovative companies. And the EMDG is a fantastic opportunity for companies that are building demand in an export market. Recipients receive up to 50% of eligible expenses as a grant, up to a maximum grant of $150,000.
There are 8 categories including: overseas representative, marketing consultant, marketing visits, trade shows, advertising and promotion, overseas buyers, and patents and trademarks.
If you are looking to claim, you can use the government resources for application information, or it may be advisable to use a specialist consultant.
