Event: Join ITFGC To Talk Mobile Robotics In New Tech Talk Series

The IT Forum Gold Coast (ITFGC) is commencing a new format of Tech Talks. Each session will be a seminar-format focusing on an aspect of Information Technology that effects our everyday lives.  The first session focuses on how mobile robotics is used in industry and will take place on the evening of Tuesday, September 12th at Robina Community Centre.

Come hear Luke Cole, (CTO of COLETEK) present about robotics and the work being done here on the Gold Coast to overcome the challenges of using mobile robots in industry.

Luke Cole

Luke Cole has a history as the “go to man” for many colleagues, and is well known to have “a knack for making things work”. Luke Cole has had extensive experience working with leading industrial and research organisations such as Hemisphere GPS, NICTA, CSIRO ICT Centre, Seeing Machines and the Research School of Information Sciences and Engineering at the Australian National University.

Luke Cole comes from a family of tech-heads. His brother is Lance Cole, who has a background of various hardware development, such as working for a contract company to the US millary (EOS), building the Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station (CROWS), and robotics research and development at the Research School of Information Sciences and Engineering at the Australian National University. Their father is Shane Cole, who has a background in hardware as a brilliant craftsman and automotive mechanic, before completing a Diploma in IT after studying UNIX computer systems.
