Every month the Gold Coast Innovation Hub is doing a deep dive into an area of technology and/or business that our community is looking to learn more about. This month it’s all about Cyber Security.
What is Cyber Security? How can you stay safe online? What should you do if you realise you have been a victim of online fraud? What do you do if your website is hacked?
For members, we will be providing answers to these questions and many more throughout the month with guest speakers, mentor visits and office hours sessions for members at the GC Hub incubator space in Varsity Lakes.
We are also hosting and live streaming a special Lunch and Learn panel on Tuesday 23rd February with some of the Gold Coast’s leading subject matter experts – Paul McCarty from Securestack, Bernard Mangelsdorf from BITS Technology Group and Elan Sithirasenan from TAFE Queensland and Steve Dalton from Refactor. Tickets to the lunch are available from Eventbrite and the event will also be live streamed from 12pm on the GC Hub Facebook page.
For the wider community, our over 50’s digital literacy program will be running a computing basics session, provide simple guidance to basic controls and use of laptop or desktop computers. It includes safe and unsafe practices when using a computer. Sessions are capped at 8 participants to ensure that all participants have individual attention – register your attendance here or email team@gchub.com.au.
If you have a specific cyber security question about your business send it through to us at team@gchub.com.au and we will compile the questions and responses in a blog post at the end of the month. If you would like to become a member of the Gold Coast Innovation Hub and access dedicated support for your business – you can apply to join here.
