GC Hub CEO Provides Input for $3 Million Female Founders Program

On International Women’s Day 2018, Gold Coast Innovation Hub CEO, Sharon Hunneybell joined key female leaders from Queensland’s startup community to share their experiences and solutions with Minister Kate Jones at the launch of the Female Founders’ Program consultation process.

Participants at this event included female founders who were recipients of several Advance Queensland supported programs such as Ignite Ideas, HotDesQ and the Catalyst Female Founders’ Mission to London. The official media release around the event is available here.

The Queensland Government are seeking further feedback about the challenges female founders face and how this program could best assist to overcome these barriers.

They are keen to know more about:

What are the barriers for female founders?
What supports are required to increase female participation in the startup sector?
Who needs to be part of the consultation?

Feedback should be emailed to FemaleFounders@ditid.qld.gov.au.
