A huge thank you to everyone that has already registered to participate in next Wednesday’s Activity Planning Session. With the Commonwealth Games playing a big role on this year’s activities we are hosting the session in the heart of the 2018 sports precinct at the KDV Sports Centre. The agenda for the session is outlined below. We look forward to seeing you there.

Welcome and Overview – 10 mins
Group Brainstorm – What Do We Need? – 30 mins
The Gold Coast Hub serves to grow and support the entire innovation sector in the areas of education, commercialisation and investment.
In the first session we will identify the support and assistance required by each section of the community – students (primary through to university), academics, inventors, entrepreneurs, startups, scale ups, existing businesses wanting to innovate, corporates wanting to support innovation, angel investors, VC and investment funds.
Focus Groups – 30 mins
In the second section, attendees will be invited to form groups around their area of interest. They will then use the requirements gathered in the first session to create a more granular list of activities by asking:
How do we meet the community needs?
Who should deliver the activity?
When should it be delivered – Year 1,2,3?
Focus Group Presentations – 15 mins
Each group will be invited to talk through their proposed activities.
Invitation to Join a Committee
As an output of this session we will compile a report and high level activity plan for the next 12 months. People that have enjoyed participating in the session that would like to join a formal committee that will deliver the activities will have the opportunity to nominate themselves for either the Education, Commercialisation or Investment committee.
Wind-down and Networking
Our awesome hosts at KDV will be providing drinks and complementary mini golf to all of our attendees to help you wind down after the session.
