Wednesday 1st December saw investment groups 42 Ventures, Gold Coast Angels and Angel Loop come together for the Gold Coast Investment Evening, an event organised by the Gold Coast Innovation Hub to introduce existing and prospective new angel investors to investment ready, early stage startups.
With the Gold Coast tech and innovation ecosystem rapidly reaching new stages of maturity it is a great time to explore early stage innovative companies as a way to diversify a traditional property or stock portfolio.
The event was designed to provide an informative and entertaining overview of the early stage investment landscape as well as a taste of the regular angel meetings that will be hosted on a bi-monthly basis throughout 2022 with 2 pitches from startups that are currently raising capital for their businesses.
Attendees were entertained with a keynote presentation from Danny Maher, Chairman of 42 Ventures around his business journey including the recent acquisition of the technology company he founded on the Gold Coast, Opmantek.
The first pitch for the evening was from Lindy Chen, founder of Frethan , the first fully automated platform that delivers an end-to-end importing management solution for supplier assurance and quality control using artificial intelligence and proven blockchain technology.
The second pitch was from Monarc Global a travel tech company changing the way charter operators price and charge for aircraft and making private aircraft more accessible for everyone.
The evening concluded with networking between investors and founders that continued well into the night, a great indication that the regular events next year will play host to an active and engaging group of new and existing angel investors.
Gold Coast Angels are currently taking expressions of interest from individuals that would like to become a member for the 2022 year.
