Industry and Education Connect at the Griffith University Opmantek Prize Night

Last week marked the 5th year of the Opmantek Prize for Industry Projects at Griffith University.

Three finalist ICT teams presented their applications to a panel of judges consisting of Opmantek and Gold Coast Hub Chairman, Danny Maher, Councillor Glenn Tozer, Head of ICT School, Bela Stantic and Senior Lecturer, Rene Hexel.

As usual the quality of the presentations and the work leading up to the presentations was of an excellent standard with students showing a good understanding and use of technology to deliver solutions to their industry partners.

The winning team, A Day In The Life, showcased an application built for their client IDEA lab that provides a real world taste of what it’s like to work in the information technology industry. A Day in the Life allows the user to walk through VR worksites, and hear from people currently working in the industry –  their role, responsibilities and experiences.
