GOLD COAST, QLD: The Gold Coast Innovation Hub (GC Hub) is pleased to announce applications for the inaugural Rapid RegTech Accelerator Program are now open. With ‘Rapid’ being the operative word, the first cohort of up to 6 participant companies will commence on the Gold Coast at the end of this month and will undertake an intensive 6-week commercialisation program, developed in conjunction with 42 Ventures, Scale Innovations and Refactor Software and supported by a variety of industry partners.
Startup founders from across Australia are encouraged to apply with their early-stage, high growth RegTech solutions via the GC Hub website.
“RegTech is an emerging sector that the GC Hub has been monitoring for some time. With the global shift to remote work in 2020, the need for digitisation of risk, regulation and compliance processes has escalated dramatically – the Rapid RegTech Accelerator has been developed in conjunction with several of our partner organisations in response to this rapidly growing market opportunity.” said GC Hub CEO, Sharon Hunneybell.
The Accelerator program has a unique structure designed to rapidly upskill participants and to provide direct connection with potential customers via the GC Hub’s established partner network. “We are looking forward to working with the world’s best RegTech talent to rapidly scale and grow their solutions with direct input from industry” Ms Hunneybell shared.
Startups that are selected for the Rapid RegTech Accelerator program receive between $10,000 and $50,000 in investment through 42 Ventures, intensive mentoring, deep access to early customers through the supporting partner network and in-depth assistance with follow-on fundraising.
42 Ventures Chairman, Danny Maher, said investment in new, globally scalable technologies was a smart way to contribute to the recovering economy. “We are thrilled to be involved with the GC hub and support this initiative. 42 Ventures is more passionate than ever about investing in tech companies and programs that stimulate the growth of great innovative businesses and provide economic and jobs growth in Australia.” said Mr Maher.
As part of the hunt for innovative new companies, GC Hub will be hosting a webinar on Tuesday 13th October to share more information about the program structure and requirements.
