Members of the Gold Coast Innovation Hub co-creating its Future!

Design thinking workshop drives a staggering 445 ideas to support our members and deliver success in 2019!

Gold Coast Innovation Hub has been a community project right from the start, putting the voices of the community members first. Continuing this tradition Anthony Kuhlmann from our workspace partner Little Tokyo Two closed out a fantastic first year with a Design Thinking Ideation Workshop for all Gold Coast Innovation Hub members to ensure that their ideas are included in the strategic planning for 2019.

Design thinking founded by David Kelley is a human-centered approach to problem solving starting with a deep understanding of customer needs with the goal to create desirable customer solutions that challenge and improve the current status quo. Some of the world’s leading brands, such as Apple, Google, Samsung and GE, have rapidly adopted the Design Thinking approach, and Design Thinking is being taught at leading universities around the world, including d.school, Stanford, Harvard and MIT.

Through participating in the workshop focused on the GC Hub experience members got the opportunity to learn about Design Thinking methodology and implement it in their businesses.

Ideation / Co-Creation was around the following Challenge Phrases:

HMW (How Might We) … Improve the Member Experience at the GC Hub?

HMW… Improve the programs / resources for GC Hub?

HMW… Strengthen the Culture at GC Hub (incorporating) the Culture Code

HMW… Improve the communication at the GC Hub in 2019?

HMW… Improve the benefits for GC Hub Members in 2019?

In just under one hour over 445 ideas were formed and each group of participants pitched their top selected idea in front of mentors and other members. The top 6 ideas will be incorporated in the strategic planning for 2019.

If you are looking to grow your business with new ideas, fresh approach, support and mentoring, join the Gold Coast Innovation Hub in the New Year. Next official tour will be held on the 18th of January at 10 am. See you there!
