Gold Coast Innovation Hub is bringing Startup OnRamp “12 week crash course on how to start a tech startup” to the Gold Coast!
Startup Onramp is a training and mentoring program that gives new and aspiring startup founders the skills and connections they need to launch and grow a globally scalable tech startup.
We are excited to announce that Gold Coast Innovation Hub will be delivering this program on the Gold Coast to a cohort of 6-12 founders starting in September 2018.
Minister for Innovation Kate Jones said that the Startup Onramp Regional Queensland Program would give innovators across regional Queenslanders the opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skills and connections they need to grow their tech startups. Startup Onramp was launched in Brisbane by experienced startup mentor and investor Colin Kinner. Colin defines the program’s core mission as helping people make the transition from employee to entrepreneur, and to give them a solid grounding in how to start a successful tech company.
The program comprises 12 weekly workshops following a logical progression from idea validation to product development, customer acquisition, investment and growth.
The workshops will be delivered by experienced program facilitators and supported by guest presenters from the local region (including entrepreneurs, investors and subject matter experts) who also assist with mentoring of the teams.
The program culminates in a pitch night at the end of the program at which all startups present.
It is expected that at the end of the program founders will:
- have defined their market offering;
- have validated their ideas with the market and experts;
- improve their start-up skills and understanding of the startup landscape;
- develop a viable business model with revenue streams;
- be able to pitch to gain co-founders, investors or enter an accelerator program.
