Recently one of the Directors of The Gold Coast Innovation Hub, Debby Lo-Dean visited the True Digital Park in Bangkok.
The True Digital Park is a private two story space run by the largest group in Thailand that make up 70 % of Thailand’s GDP.
It is more than just an innovation hub and incubator. Many companies and universities use this space for education and training. There is also an AI educational space. The co-working startup space is truly inspiring.
Debby was hosted by GM Dr. Tarit Nimmanwudipong and his team as well as Emmy, Innovation Counsellor/Innovative Entrepreneurship Development Dept. National Innovation Agency.
During the meeting Debby talked about The Gold Coast Innovation Hub, TIQ, Austrade, Global talent visas and GCCC economic development packages for investment. The Innovation Hub has over 2 floors and is privately sponsored by the very generous leaders of the CP group, Thailand’s largest conglomerate with 13 business groups and $82 Billion USD in revenue (70% of GDP).
The CD group is currently building a new internationally designed building next door that will house bio-engineering labs and a glass meditation pyramid. One of the inspiring programs called the ‘Sandbox,’ program, allows large companies to sponsor days or weeks of problem solving for their particular industry allowing young entrepreneurs to work in teams to come up with innovative solutions.
You can see an example of this in the Netflix show, ‘Start-Up.’
The Thai government also has a yearly accelerator program that is run out of the True Digital Park and is conducted internationally online with the possibility of Australian participants in the future.
Debby shared some of the photos taken on the day.
We look forward to cross border collaboration between the Gold Coast Innovation Hub and True Digital Park in the future.
