There are still a few seats available for start ups, scale ups and corporate partners to join us at Griffith University’s Opmantek Award for Industry Projects this Friday.
In it’s 6th year, the Opmantek Prize was introduced to bring awareness to the industry projects initiative that was already being delivered through the school of ICT at Griffith University and to showcase student ability to solve real world problems using IT for a variety of industry partners.
The Industry Projects initiative allows external businesses to submit projects for student teams to deliver. Students work with their industry partners to gather requirements, before creating a project plan and set of deliverables that are completed over the semester.
Projects are assessed internally and the top 3 are then nominated to take part in the Opmantek Prize.
On Opmantek Award night, each team has 20 minutes to walk through their project and demonstrate the technology developed for the industry partner to a panel of judges including Opmantek and Gold Coast Innovation Hub Chairman, Danny Maher. The judges determine an overall winner whilst attendees network over food and drink, presenting the winning team with a certificate and $2000 cash prize.
If you are a business owner that would like to learn more about submitting an Industry Project brief for next semester, we highly recommend that you attend this evening to find out more!
