Max is the CEO and Cofounder of HotelFlex.
HotelFlex matches empty hotel rooms with guest who wish to extend their stay, to accommodate awkward travel schedules. In doing so, making money for hotels and ensuring that guests, never again have to wait for their room to be ready after arriving on the early morning flight.
After setting up the business 3 years ago, Max went through the Y Combinator accelerator scheme in Silicon Valley, before raising over $1.1m in funding. The software is now used in hotels all around the world.
Troy Hains is a NQ Startup expert from theSPACE
Well known North Queensland startup expert from Cairns, innovation incubator “theSPACE”, Troy Haines, has recently returned from an outgoing external secondment to the Transformative Technology Lab (TTL), based in San Francisco where he received specialist Transformative Technology (TT) startup mentoring from key personnel. Transformative Technologies are technology that can facilitate mental health, emotional well-being and enhanced human thriving. It is based on the premise that we can take the tech that has taxed our thinking and relationships and use it instead to transform our hearts and minds. Our goal is to collectively, through every transformative tech product and service, to support 2BN people flourish mentally and emotionally.
Troy returns with vital information, introductions, knowledge, techniques, skills and other advanced learnings that will be transferred directly to Entrepreneurs & Innovators within the Australian market through a series of workshops & mentoring. Design sprints are a fast-paced process for co-designing, prototyping and validating new product, service, and business model ideas. Originating at Google Ventures, the design sprint enables teams to align on solutions and to test them with customers in under a week.
This interactive workshop offers a practical introduction to design sprints, geared for startups. Tim Rayner and Diego Trigo from Hello Again, a solution design agency in Byron Bay, will walk you through the 4-day design sprint model, explaining the thinking behind each step of the process and how to get the most out of your design sprint team.
