GCHub Toastmasters meeting
20190206

Follow on meeting from last week, we are not chartered yet as a club, but we can still meet. Please bring your forms from last week if you have them. People that didn’t come last week are very welcome too.

Our long term intention is to start a regular club in the same time slot, come along and discover what Toastmasters is all about and appreciate what it has to offer, in particular for startup founders and other innovators working at the GCHub.

The event is intended to be fun, interesting and you will all walk away with something useful and a spring in your step for the day!

Gold Coast Jelly Group
20190201

Jelly is a casual working event. It’s taken place in over a hundred cities where people have come together (in a person’s home, a coffee shop, or an office) to work for the day. We provide chairs , internet, and interesting people to talk to, collaborate with, and bounce ideas off of.

You bring a laptop (or whatever you need to get your work done) and a friendly disposition.

Bots and Conversational UI are the next UI revolution
20190131

Join us for the first IT Forum Gold Coast event of 2019 with Adam Stephensen from Microsoft!

Bots & Conversational UI are the new UI frontier. Siri, Google Assistant and Alexa started the trend, but no-UI is the future of UI. Users are going to expect to be able to have conversations with companies and organisations in the client that they have on hand. Don’t believe me? Gartner predicts that by 2020 30% of HTTP requests will be via bots.

In this session, you will explore how the Microsoft Bot Framework makes it easy to build and connect intelligent bots to interact with users and services. Take your existing applications, your FAQ or a great new idea you have and build a bot that will run from your website or from Cortana, Skype, a phone call, text message, Teams, Slack, Facebook Messenger and more.

If you missed the mobile revolution – why not lead in the bot wars?

Gold Coast TechSpace - Regular Wednesday Open Hack.
20190130

This is our main weekly meeting for TechSpace members and guests to work on their projects or come learn a new skill.

This meeting is open to guests. To become a full TechSpace member please see our separate Membership page (https://gctechspace.org/members/) on the gctechspace.org website.

It is not a talk fest: members are usually working on projects, either alone, working with someone else, or demoing something to the group. If there is a theme for the week, someone in the group might go off to the side and present something or lead a study group.

This meeting is open to all, but if you have already been to TechSpace a few times though, it’s good etiquette to apply to be a member. Please refer to “Membership” Web page (https://gctechspace.org/members/) for more details.
