Battle of the Founders: Pitch Night
20230914
6:30 pm

What is Battle of the Founders (BOTF)?

The Battle of the Founders is not your average start-up competition – it’s follows a unique three-phase sequence that empowers all founders with insights into capital raising and the art of delivering a compelling and effective pitch. However, only three crowned winners will claim the ultimate prize.

All three winners will raise capital via OnMarket at no upfront cost on a timeline of their preference – an incredible opportunity for any start-up ready to embark on their growth journey.

Pitch Night Information:

In the final phase of our three-phase competition, the eagerly anticipated pitch night is set for the 14th of September at The Precinct, located in Brisbane’s vibrant Fortitude Valley.

This evening commences with networking drinks, paving the way for the battle ahead. Selected finalists from the previous stages of Battle of the Founders will then take the stage, presenting in front of an audience of potential investors and customers, as well as a distinguished panel of three expert judges.

Each founder will face a round of questioning from the judges following their pitch, and once the pitches are complete, these judges will evaluate each presentation to determine the winner and runner-up. Simultaneously, the audience will vote for their favourite pitch – awarding one finalist ‘the crowd favourite.’

The three winners will share $50,000 worth of prizes, including the incredible opportunity to raise capital via crowd-sourced funding with OnMarket.

We invite you to join us on the 14th of September for the first QLD Battle of the Founders.

This is an opportunity to enrich the competition with energy whilst also meeting likeminded founders and investors – not to mention learn a thing or two about upcoming businesses and how to deliver a brilliant pitch!

Key Event Details:

Date: 14 September 2023

Time: 6pm doors open, 6:30pm kick off

Venue: The Precinct, Fortitude Valley (Laneway entrance at “Hey Chica” restaurant)

We look forward to seeing you there.

  • I’m a Mum, Step-Mum and Dog Mum and love nothing more than having all our kids,  their dogs and our friends around for a BBQ on the weekends
  • When I get time to escape, you’ll most likely find me and my best friend/husband cruising down the beach on Bribie Island in our Rubicon Jeep Wrangler.  This is one of my favourite spots in Australia to camp on the beach and unwind.
  • My team often mock me for all the analogies and sayings I use so I thought I’d share some of my fav sayings here: ‘stop existing and start living’, ‘start as you mean to go on’, ‘if you worry before you should, you’ll worry more than you should’.
  • Purple Playground is my second entrepreneurial venture, the first being a camper trailer hire company we established back in 2009 which combined my love of camping with being my own boss!
